SCHULENBURG — The 8th Annual Schulenburg Sausagefest is right around the corner commencing on Saturday, April 1, in Schulenburg.
A walking parade will begin at 11:15 a.m. at the Schulenburg Sticker office.
ATVs will be allowed with responsible drivers. All animals must be leashed and well behaved as per the festival website.
After the parade, live music will bring up the temperature with The Czechaholics from noon to 3 p.m., Mark Halata and Texavia at 3:30 p.m. and the David Lewis Band from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The will be day filled with good times, food and drink. The pickles, sauerkraut and wine winners will be announced around 2 p.m., and who can’t resist a good Hog Calling Contest.
To top off the day’s activities, the winners for the Sausage Entries, People’s Choice and Showmanship are announced around 7 p.m.
There will be activities for children and families all day long.
For those who long to run for the sake of running when there isn’t a bear chasing them, the 5K will begin at 9 a.m.
