Easter Bunny and knives on fire

BELLVILLE— Playing with knives and fire during this past weekend was set against the backdrop of a not-so-dangerous adventure - the Bellville Market Days event.

Texas Select's Forged in Fire and Downtown Bellville's Market Day go hand in hand this time of year and April 1 did not fool anyone. Each year the crowd grows bigger at both venues and the vendors grow with it. Bellville is on everyone's radar as the place to go for food and fun - a great combination. Bellville Market Days featured locally grown produce and vendors on the square. People as far as Louisiana came to join in the fun on the square. This day was made special by the appearance of the Easter Bunny.

Texas Select's Forged in Fire had the Austin County Fair Convention and Expo Center was bursting out at the seams with vendors and knife enthusiasts. Cowboy Szymanski, of Phenix Knives in Bellville, first brought together a select bunch of Forged in Fire champions in Bellville several years ago and the rest is history. Szymanski gave a masterful demonstration on forging a twisted pattern of Damascus.
