SPRING FEST PLANNED
SEALY — The Sealy Area Historical Society’s Spring Fest will be held Saturday, April 8 at the Sealy Historial Park at 211 East Main St. in Sealy. The event will include a play by the Texas Theater Company, Will Carter Band, Brown Sugar Band, train rides, Easter egg roll, games, crafts, demo, antique quilts, antique cars, great food, bake sale and plant sale. NEW ULM VFD FISH FRY PLANNED
NEW ULM — The New Ulm Volunteer Fire Department annual fish fry fundraiser will be held Saturday, April 22, rain or shine, at the New Ulm Firemen’s Park in New Ulm. The meal will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Meal tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children 6-12 and free for children under 6. Fish plates to go (drive-thru line) are $15 and fish to go is $15 per pound. An auction will begin at 7 p.m.
with proceeds to be used for maintenance and repairs at the New Ulm Firemen's Park. A raffle drawing will be held after the auction with proceeds going to the fire department. Everyone is cordially invited to come out and support the event.

ELLINGER — The Ellinger Volunteer Fire Department Fundraiser will be held Sunday, April 30 at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall in Ellinger. The barbecue chicken and sausage dinner is $12 per plate. Serving in the hall starts at 11 a.m.. Drive-thru plates start at 10:30 a.m. Barbecue chicken to go sold at the pits is $10 per chicken. Auction will begin at 1 p.m. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to purchase a new rescue truck.

FC RETIRED TEACHERS TO MEET
LA GRANGE — The Fayette County Retired Teachers’ Association will meet Monday, April 10 at the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church, located at 1215 Von Minden in La Grange. Social time will be at 1:45 p.m. followed by a short business meeting, and games of Bunco. The business meeting will include information on “Day at the Capitol” which will be held Wednesday, April 12 and the collection of yearly dues. WALDECK FOOD TRUCK CHANGES
WALDECK — The Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) has decided to discontinue serving food as a drive-thru format. Now the Waldeck food truck will have food distribution as a walk-up method. Volunteers will distribute the food from tables. Every client needs to bring their own sturdy reusable bags and boxes. A few wagons will be furnished by CTFB, but if the client has their own wagon, please bring it. Waldeck food truck is on third Saturdays of each month from 10 to 11 a.m. The 2023 dates are: April 15, May 20, June 17, July 15, Aug. 19, Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18 and Dec. 16.
SEALY KC'S LENTEN FISH FRY DINNER
SEALY — The Sealy Knights of Columbus will be serving their Famous Fish Fry Drive Thru Dinner for $12 a plate on Friday, April 7, at the Sealy Columbus Club (KC) Hall at 1310 Hwy 90 West, Sealy. The meal will be served from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Sealy KC programs.
ST. MICHAEL SPRINGFEST PLANNED
WEIMAR — St. Michael Catholic Church Springfest will be held Sunday, April 30 at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Weimar. The fried chicken and sausage dinner will be served at $12 per plate beginning at 11 a.m. Drive-thru and take-home plates will be available at St. Michael Family Center also $12 per plate. The event will include an auction at 1 p.m., bingo from 2 to 6 p.m., antique and classic car show, country store, cake walk, treasure chest, kids games, and bounce house and mechanical bull from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Music will be provide by Czechaholics at 11 a.m., Chris Rybak at 2 p.m. and Texas Sundown Band from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Hamburgers, cold drinks and snow cones will be available.
