You can thank Hedy Lamar for your Wi-Fi. The actress was a genius. She invented a version of frequency hopping in 1942 with composer George Antheil. HLamar wanted to make WWII tor- pedoes more difficult to detect.
Her invention wasn’t used until 1962 during the Cuban blockade.
However, her concept was used in the 1950s. She is also the inspiration for the cartoon beauties Snow White and Catwoman
