The Flatonia High School baseball team defeated their recent opponent Bloomington in a two game series by scores of 19-0 and 18-0 and have an overall record of 11-3 with a 6-1 record in District 29-2A. Big hitters in this series were Keyshaun Green, Beck Zimmerman, Cale Janecka, and Dayton Cliffe. Cliffe led the team with six RBI’s in the first game, then Janecka was the head honcho in the second game with four RBI’s.
Green, Zimmerman, and Cliffe each had three runs scored. Flatonia also possesses sophomore Texas A&M baseball commit Titan Targac, a lefty pitcher who can reach at least the mid eighties with his fastball. The Bulldogs made a nice run in the postseason last year and can do the same in 2023 as they have a bunch of returning starters. This team has not only good baseball players, but good overall athletes.
