Sealy High School senior Jasmyne Joiner recently signed commit to play volleyball with Wharton County Junior College. On hand for the signing were, front row, from left, Joiner’s mother Oshea Johnson and Joiner; and, back row, Mendi Brown, Kimberly Boyd, Caroline Owen and Shane Mobley. Joiner has been in the Sealy Volleyball program for three years and been a real role maker for the team. After another exciting year, she had 261 out of her 602 total kills with a hitting percentage of .244. She was the blocking leader for the district with 15 solos and 54 block assists. Over three years she has 186 total blocks which is the record in Coach Kimberly Boyd’s six years at Sealy. She earned almost half of her total blocks her senior year alone. She earned Academic All District each year on varsity. She also was Honorable Mention in 2020, 1st Team All District in 2021, 2nd Team All District in 2022, and helped get the team to Area each of her three years. At the end of 2021, she was awarded the top female athlete award at the Sealy HS sports banquet. Courtesy photo
