LA GRANGE — The Fayette Public Library Fayette Heritage Museum and Archives Department recently finished putting together the Contraptions and Innovations: Early Fayette County Patents.

Fayette County residents have always been an enterprising bunch, especially in the agriculture business where innovation was a must apart of piecing together rusted barbed wire. There are more than 150 patents that were granted to Fayette County residents between 1869 and 1920.

Patents on plows, planters, hay balers and others will be on exhibit at the library.

The Fayette Public Library is located at 855 South Jefferson St. in La Grange.
