LA GRANGE — Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reported that on April 17, in the process of an ongoing narcotics investigation in the La Grange area, the Fayette County Narcotics Unit received information on possible narcotics sales at a room in the Carter Motel in La Grange.
The room was placed under surveillance and probable cause was found for a search warrant to be executed. Due to it being unknown if the individual involved was possibly armed or present inside the room, the Austin County Regional SRT team was used to execute the search warrant.
The apartment was found to be unoccupied. Approximately 4.8 oz of methamphetamine, 6.8 oz of ecstasy pills and over one pound of marijuana were located inside the residence along with other narcotics sales paraphernalia and a loaded 9mm handgun.
The investigation remains ongoing and further charges will be filed at a later time. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is thankful for the assistance of the Austin County Regional SRT team and the La Grange PD.
