Lady Cardinals softball has an overall record of 22-5 with a 12-1 record in district and has won their last 11 games in a row. It's apparent that first-year head coach Alfred Rosa is pulling strings as he has tons of great coaching experience with the florescent ball. Columbus is known for having a solid softball program, but this was a home run of a hire by Columbus High School athletic director Matt Schobel.

Key contributors have been players such as Mayson Post, Molly Garcia, and Karlee Mathis. Columbus faces off against Marion High School in the first round of the playoffs this Friday, April 28 at home with a game time of 7 p.m.

Columbus softball player Mayson Post signs with Concordia Univer - sity in Austin to continue her soft ball career April 20 at the Mar- ley Giddens Center. On hand for the signing were, front row, from left, Kourtney Korenek, Mayson Post, Rachel Post and John Hen - ry Post; and, back row, Alfred Rosa, Mitchel Etzel, Mia Post and Hattie Post.
