BOERNE — The Banner Press newspaper brought home awards won in the 2023 Better Newspaper Contest at the South Texas Press Association (STPA) Conference in Boerne this past week.
Headline Writing brought home first place, Feature Photos took third (can’t do much better when using a Polaroid Instamatic) and Humorous Column Writing placed fourth.
The Banner Press serves Austin, Colorado and Fayette counties.
Judges were volunteers from other parts of Texas with journalism backgrounds.
