LIBRARY TO HOLD ANNUAL BOOK SALE

WEIMAR - The Friends of the Weimar Public Library will hold their annual book sale on Saturday, May 6 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Weimar Library located at 1 Jackson Square in Weimar. This sale is open to the public and everyone is invited to come see what we have to offer. The library will have many books and DVD's for sale for every age group. Paperback books are 25 cents, hardcover books $1, audio books $2 and DVD movies $1. All proceeds benefit The Friends of the Weimar Public Library organization. KAYLA FAITH MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNEY SET

Kyla Faith Memorial will host a two-day, three-man scramble golf tournament May 6 and 7. The tournament begins at Frisch Auf!

Country Club Saturday, May 6, and continues on Sunday, May 7, at the Weimar Golf Club. Calcutta will be held at the KC Hall in La Grange on Saturday with a catered dinner and happy hour starting at 6:30 p.m. On Sunday, there will be a wheel barrel raffle drawing at the Weimar Golf Course. There will also be a 50/50 drawing, and lunch will be provided both days. Winners will receive cash and trophy prizes. For more information, call (979) 743-1093.

INDUSTRY BRETHREN PLANS FUNDRAISER

INDUSTRY - The Industry Brethren Church will hold its 32nd Annual Fundraiser Sunday, May 7 at the Industry Fireman's Hall in Industry. The barbecue beef and sausage meal will be $15 a plate and served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., dine in or plates to go. Gospel singer Jerry Kramer will provide entertainment from 11 to noon. Auction will begin at noon. Raffle tickets available for guns and gift cards from any church member or at the event. There will also be a silent auction and homemade desserts.

HOSTYN MAYFEST SET FOR SUNDAY LA GRANGE - The Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Mayfest will be held Sunday, May 7. Polka Mass will begin at 10

a.m. Barbecue pork and sausage meal will be served from 11 a.m.

to 1 p.m. at $14 per plate. Drive-thru serving line for plates to go is 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at $14 per plate. Hamburgers will be available

after 3 p.m. The event will include an auction beginning at 1 p.m.,

music and games throughout the day. Hostyn Parish grounds are lo cated at 936 FM 2436 in La Grange.

LIONS DANCE CLUB TO SPONSOR DANCE SEALY - The Lions Sealy Dance Club is sponsoring a dance on Saturday, May 6, at the Sealy American Legion Hall with the Boogie Allen Band providing the music from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Guests are always welcome.

CHS CLASS OF '53 TO HOLD GET TOGETHER WEIMAR — The Columbus High School Class of 1953 will hold a get together for their 70th Reunion “The Big One” Saturday, May 13 beginning at 3:30 p.m. at The Phoenix Event Center in Weimar. The Phoenix is located at 1626 Hodde Ln in Weimar. From Colum bus take State Highway 90W toward Weimar, turn right on County Road 219 and follow the signs. WALDECK FOOD TRUCK CHANGES

WALDECK — The Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) has decided to discontinue serving food as a drive-thru format. Now the Waldeck food truck will have food distribution as a walk-up method. Volunteers will distribute the food from tables. Every client needs to bring their own sturdy reusable bags and boxes. A few wagons will be furnished by CTFB, but if the client has their own wagon, please bring it. Waldeck food truck is on third Saturdays of each month from 10 to 11 a.m. The 2023 dates are: May 20, June 17, July 15, Aug. 19, Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18 and Dec. 16.

MOTHERS DAY FUNDRAISER SET COLUMBUS — The CCH Ladies Auxiliary Gift Shop Mothers Day Fundraiser is going on now through Friday, May 5. Or- der a beautiful vase of flowers for Mom for $20. Pick up your order on Thursday, May 11 in the morning. Orders taken only at the gift shop located in the lobby of the hospital. All proceeds benefit the hospital.

EL HOLDS FARMERS/COMMUNITY MARKET EAGLE LAKE — Eagle Lake holds its Farmers & Community Market every third Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Eagle Lake. KOEHL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP BBQ PLATES The third annual Roy Koehl Memorial Scholarship fundraiser will be held today (Thursday, May 4). Presale tickets only. Serv ing will be in Fayetteville at the school from 4 to 6 p.m. and in La Grange at the Fayette County Fairgrounds parking lot from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Meal consists of half of a barbecue chicken, buttered potatoes, green beans, pickles and onions catered by Peter's BBQ for a donation of $14 a plate. LIBRARY TO PRESENT SLEEP PROGRAM COLUMBUS — The Nesbitt Memorial Library in Columbus

will have program on Sleep - Why does it matter? by Paula Grahmann, PharmD of Your Hometown Pharmacy today (Thurs day, May 4). The program will be presented in two sessions, 4 and 6 p.m. The will be door prizes. Reservations are not necessary.

CC SENIOR CONNECTIONS OPENS SOON

COLUMBUS — The Colorado County Senior Connections, a place for seniors to socialize with others, will hold its first ever get together on Wednesday, June 7, from 10 a.m.

to 1 p.m. at the Stafford Opera House in Columbus. Card games, board games, educational speakers and bingo are planned. Lunch provided. Fun time will be every first and third Wednesday. CCSC is open to anyone 65 years and older.
