First comes the thunder!

RESS COLUMBUS – Buckle up and put on your earplugs because there is nothing like a 2500-plus horsepower blown alcohol truck and modified tractors to blow your mind. The vibrations from the big boys drive through you and get your heart pumping.

The crowd easily gets into the spirit and cheers on each puller. The stands are usually packed and everyone has a good time.

Thunder by the Colorado was organized in 2013 with the goal of reviving hot rod trucks and tractor-pulling excitement across Texas. Each year the crowds and the contestants grow and it is no different now 10 years on in Columbus. The fanbase grows and many look forward to the first weekend of May.

Fans can expect to see unique pulling classes that include heavy-weight Hot Farm “smoker” tractors, Pro Stock 4x4 trucks, modified tractors, mini road trac tors and super street diesel 4x4 trucks.

Gates open Friday, May 5 at 5 p.m. and Saturday, May 6 at 2 p.m. The main show begins at 6:30 p.m. on both nights.

Come out to the Colorado County Fairgrounds in Columbus this weekend May 5 and 6 to see and feel the power of the Thunder by the Colorado.
