LA GRANGE — A regular session of the Fayette County Commissioners Court was swift and to the point on Jan. 12. The first meeting of 2023 lasted less than an hour. However, it was business as usual with the first items on the agenda.
Bonds were approved to pro- tect officials' conduct or omis sions during their duties. County Inspector Clint Sternadel reported a steady increase in development permits over the past three years with 2022 seeing 221 development permits issued. Septic permits also increased slightly from 335 in 2020 to 344 in 2022.
Precinct 4 Commissioner Drew Brossmann asked the pub- lic to call the Sheriff's Office if they intend to burn brush or other materials. Brossman is also the assistant fire chief in Schulen burg.
A request by the Fayette County EMS director to use American Rescue Plan Funds to purchase an ambulance was granted.
Ellinger Mayor Matt Mikulenka asked the court to approve a $45,400 to purchase a 60-horsepower tractor with a front-end loader and six-foot mower to be used for road repair and maintenance in Ellinger. The monies would come out of the American Rescue Plan Funds. The request was approved.
