The Fayetteville High School baseball team is looking to reach their second state tournament in three years and are on the right track as they recently defeated Spurger High School May 5 in two games, with both games hav -
ing scores of 17-0.
In the first game, Fayetteville scored three runs in each of the first two innings, then drove in 11 runs in the third inning. In the second game, the runs were more spread out with three runs in the first inning, seven in the second, five in the third, and two in the fourth.
This Lions team has found their mojo and is one of the most dangerous teams in the state when playing well.
