GEORGETOWN - The Brahmanettes softball team was defeated by Boerne High School May 5 at Eagles Field in George- town by a final score of 14-4.
Boerne had one too many big innings at the plate, which made a lot to overcome for Bellville.
Bellville head softball coach Courtney Phillips was not avail- able for a quote.
Boerne loaded the bases in the bottom of the first inning and took advantage with a walk, then a grand slam to make it 5-0. After a Bellville error on a grounder to third base in the second inning, the Lady Greyhounds sacrificed bunted, singled to right-center, and grounded to shortstop on a fielder's choice to to score three more runs and put the score at 8-0. Boerne then proceeded to hit an inside the park home run to right field to drive in another
three runs and take a 11-0 lead.
After a postponement due to lightning, Bellville was able to muster four runs, but Boerne continued to add to their lead and close out the game at 14-4.
