Coffee table book to highlight the Colorado County community through the changing of the seasons. The Columbus Historical Preservation Trust, Inc. (CHPT) is excited to announce the kickoff of its latest community project, Seasons of Colorado County, a hardbound, coffee table photo book dedicated to celebrating Colorado County’s residents, heritage, and natural beauty. Seasons of Colorado County will feature photographs highlighting everything that makes Colorado County unique, all through the lens of the changing of the seasons.
Colorado County residents are encouraged to submit personal photographs for publication consideration, making this pho- to book a true reflection of the community. Photo submissions will be accepted through May 1, 2024, and will be expertly curated by designer and publisher Jerry Herring. Seasons of Colorado County will be released and available for purchase in October 2024.
To spread awareness about the project and encourage community involvement, CHPT is hosting a booth at the upcoming Magnolia Days Festival. Visit the Courthouse Square on May 20 and stop by the CHPT booth from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for a free picture and to learn more about the Seasons of Colorado County project.
“Colorado County has so much to offer its residents,” said CHPT President Julie Prause. “We’re excited to showcase what makes it so special. Seasons of Colorado County will be a work of art people will enjoy for generations to come.”
To bring Seasons of Colorado County to fruition, donations from the community are crucial. Community members can show their support by becoming book underwriters or donating to offset the cost of printing. More information about underwriting opportunities and benefits may be found on https://www.columbushpt. com/index.php/photo- book or by contacting CHPT directly at [email protected] or call (979) 732-5135.
Those interested in submitting a photo for publication consideration may upload their photo directly to the CHPT website. Printed photos may be dropped off at the Columbus Chamber of Commerce office during reg ular business hours. Complete details on photo submission may be found on https://www.columbushpt. com/index.php/photo- book.
Proceeds from the sale of Seasons of Colorado County will support the mission of CHPT and develop programming for community events and programs. “We hope everyone will get behind this special project,” said Prause. “This is a big undertaking and donations in any amount are greatly appreciated. There are several different underwriting opportunities available, and we encourage everyone to learn more about getting involved.”
