BELLVILLE — Bellville Police Chief Jason Smalley issued a statement of shots fired in Bell ville and a subject arrested. Carlo DeWayne Shelly, 26, of Dallas was arrested last night at the Park Place Apartments, located at 20 South Mechanic St. in Bellville. Shelly was issued a criminal trespass warning earlier in the day and was removed from the property by request.
Shelly returned later that eve- ning to get a firearm that he had left behind.
After returning to the apartment complex, a Bellville police officer was in the area and saw the subject discharge the weapon approximately seven times into the air.
The officer confronted Shelly at gun point and was able to take him into custody without further incident.
