ENGLE — Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reported on Tuesday morning around 07:50 a.m. Drug Interdiction Investigator David Smith conduct- ed a traffic stop on I-10 at the 668 MM E/B near Engle for traffic
violations.
While making contact with the driver, Deputy Smith observed several criminal indicators and he obtained consent to search the vehicle.
A concealed compartment was located in the trunk floor area during the search. Smith discovered 13 bundles in the compartment that tested positive for Cocaine.
Arrested was Joshua Joe Rosas, 22, of Rio Grande City., who was charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Assisting Smith at the scene was Drug Interdiction Sgt. Randy Thumann and his K-9 “Kolt” and Deputy Herman Olvera.
A total of 11 Kilos of suspected Cocaine with a street value of $385,000.00 was seized.
