One of Frelsburg Volunteer Fire Department's firefighters Brent Gorman Sr. was recently
awarded the Firefighter of the Year award by The 100 Club at the 2023 Hero Awards.
Captain Gorman Sr. was recognized for his outstanding work as a firefighter when he attended the 100 Club banquet on May 25 in Houston.
He was presented with a cus- tom fire helmet and a custom fire ax.
On two separate occasions, Capt Gorman Sr. put his training into action when he performed Stop the Bleed procedures with his own medical gear he carries with him.
Because of his quick action and thinking, two injured people had better outlooks for survival from their accidents.
The 100 Club annually awards firefighters for their go ing above and beyond in helping to save lives.
