The Weimar High School softball team has finished third in the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) softball poll after an overall regular season record of 37-7-1 and 11-2 record in district. The Lady Wildcats have been atop the TGCA poll for the majority of the season due to the strong leadership from head coach Roger Maupin and elite pitching from Colorado State University softball commit Reagan Wick.
As it takes a whole team to accomplish winning efforts, Weimar's personnel has "stepped up to the plate" and then some with run support for Wick and others on the pitching staff, resulting in back-to-back state tournament appearances. Weimar has shown the product they've built on the softball field is quality and the expectation is to be in the state championship conversation for the long haul.
