UIL 2023 BOYS GOLF STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

AUSTIN - The UIL 2023 Boys Golf State Championships were held May 22 and 23 in Austin.

Representing the tri-county in class 2A was the Schulenburg Shorthorns and Weimar Wildcats laying at the Lions Municipal Golf Course in Austin.

The Schulenburg Short - horn team, consisting of Reid Janda, Brycen Schramek, Kaz McBride, Jackson Faith and Jayce Janda, scored on day 1-355; day 2-362; for a total of 717. Individual two day totals were Janda 77--84-161; McBride 86-85-171; Schramek 90-99-189; Faith 105-94-199; and Janda 102-99-201.

Weimar competing as individuals included Brady Henke 94-92-186; Dillon Stech 104-92-196; and Camden Morrison 98-100-198.

The Columbus Cardinal team represent the tri-county at the Jimmy Clay Golf Course in Austin. The team, consisting of Kaldon Roensch, Adam Schobel, Camdon Pitchford, Cullen Loessin and Trace Braden, shot two day totals of 344-338-681.

Individually Roensch shot 84-78-162; Loessin 82-- 83-165; Schobel 90-86- 176; Pitchford 89-91-180; and Braden 89-93-182.

Representing the tri-county in Class 4A at the Legends Golf Course-The Legends in Kingsland was the Bellville Brahmas consisting of team members Season Bauerschlag, Cooper Hollomon, William Mudra, Emil Kloss and Jason Wood shooting 321-318-639.

Individually Bauerschlag shot 79-73-152; Holloman 77-78-155; Kloss 80-84- 164; Mudra 85-83-168; and Wood 87-85-172.
