COLUMBUS — Kim Kovar and Liz Rodriguez joined Walmart in the summer of 1983. Now, 40 years later, they are still going Walmart-strong with the friendly smile and neighborly chat they love.
Kovar joined Walmart out of Columbus High School in 1983. She took up residence in the Pharmacy Department and she has been greeting customers and helping them with their medication orders ever since.
She is certified as a Pharmacy Tech and is certified by the State Board of Pharmacy and the National Board PTCB. She is the Lead Pharmacy Tech. She says, “I started working in the pharmacy and have been there since. I love my job and my customers. It doesn’t seem like 40 years!”
Rodriguez started her 40year run by helping put the front checkouts together. She was the sales clerk in the Health and Beauty Aid Department, a Hardware and Paints Department Manager, Receiving, Invoicing and then back to Receiving.
Her knowledge of store operations is invaluable.
