Flatonia has become a force in boy's hoops, but can they keep the train rolling?

FLATONIA — Bulldogs boys basketball has had quite the success in recent years and even made it to the state tournament last year.

Flatonia head basketball coach Chris Sodek has put his team in the deep playoff conversation for the majority of his tenure. The only question is if they will be able to maintain the quality of basketball they’ve been playing as of late, since they just graduated a total of seven seniors.

These seniors include Keyshaun Green, Camden Bosl, Holden Kloesel, Dayton Cliffe, Luke Law and Jaidyn Guyton. This list consists of basically their entire 2022 starting lineup. Good thing for Flatonia, they have a coach like Sodek at the helm, who even went to three state titles in a row from 2012 to 2014 at Mumford High School. Sodek ended up winning a title in 2014 and has proven his success as a head coach.

Flatonia has good athletes as well, but Sodek’s pressure on defense and fast-paced offense, along with his true passion for basketball, keeps Flatonia in the state title conversation just with Sodek running the show.

As long as Sodek doesn’t have any plans to depart, Flatonia bas- ketball will be just fine.
