Baylor University running back and former Bellville Brahma Richard Reese came off a huge football season last year as a freshman and is projected to have a similar type of year in 2023. Reese became Bellville’s all-time leading rusher during his tenure as a Brahma and is one of those backs that is just that good.
The 5’9” 175 pounder goes into his sophomore season with a 2022 stat line of 198 carries for 972 yards,14 touchdowns, and a 4.9 average on yards per carry. Reese is the type of athlete who doesn’t showboat. He just goes about his business and puts his nose to the grindstone. When Reese hits his hole and gets into open space, it’s very tough for opposing teams to stop him with his burst and speed down the field.
Reese also won last year’s Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year Award and has already established himself as one of the premier backs in college football. This Bellville legend’s stock will only continue to rise as his career goes on.
