Step up, youngsters! The Colorado Co. Fair Association welcomes the children of Colorado County to compete in the Colora- do Co Fair Little Ms., Little Mr., and Junior Miss pageant contests.
The contests will be held at the Colorado Co. Fairgrounds at the Founder's Hall on Saturday, Sept. 7, starting at 5:30 p.m.
Little Mr. and Little Miss contests are for children 5, 6, or 7 years of age, and the Jr. Miss contest follows afterward with contestants being 8, 9, or 10 years of age, all by Sept. 1. Contestants must reside in Colorado County.
The contest costs $25 to enter and consists of an on-stage interview before a panel of out-ofcounty judges.
Western attire is recommended but optional, with scoring being 90% on-stage personality and 10% Western attire.
Also, winners must be avail- able to ride the fair float in pa rades and participate in representing the fair association at fair events.
Parents are required to help pull the fair float.
Little Miss., Little Mr., should check in at the hall no later than 5:15 pm; and Jr Miss contestants check in afterward at 5:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds.
NEW! First sign up begins July 5 and 6 at the Columbus Fairgrounds office between 4-6 p.m. and is available after that at the Columbus Chamber of Com- merce Office Monday through Friday from 8 to 4 p.m., Weimar chamber from 9 a.m. to noon on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and at the Eagle Lake chamber office 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Mon day through Friday.
Items needed are entry cards filled out and returned with a $25 entry fee.
Deadline to enter is Friday, Sept. 1 by 5 p.m.
