WALDECK FOOD TRUCK CHANGES

WALDECK - The Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) has decided to discontinue serving food as a drive-thru format. Now the Waldeck food truck will have food distribution as a walk-up method. Volunteers will distribute the food from tables. Every client needs to bring their own sturdy reusable bags and boxes. A few wagons will be furnished by CTFB, but if the client has their own wagon, please bring it. Waldeck food truck is on third Saturdays of each month from 10 to 11 a.m. The 2023 dates are: July 15, Aug. 19, Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18 and Dec. 16.

MORAVIA PARISH PICNIC PLANNED

MORAVIA - Moravia Ascension Parish Picnic will be held Sunday, July 16 at the church located at FM 957 and FM 532 in Moravia. Picnic Mass will begin at 9:30 a.m. The stew and kettle fried chicken will be served at 11 a.m. at $12 per plate. Drive-thru plates to go will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will include a country store, cake walk at noon, games, kids foam machine and water fun, cornhole tournament at 11 a.m., auction sale at 1 p.m. and bingo form 1 to 5 p.m. There will be hamburgers, refreshments and entertainment on the picnic grounds. A prize drawing wil be held at 7 p.m. Music during the day and night by Mark Halata & Texavia, and Texas Sound Check.

STS. PETER & PAUL TO HOLD FESTIVAL

FRELSBURG - Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg will hold its Country Festival on the church grounds Sunday, Aug. 6 in Frelsburg. Holy Mass will be held at 8:30 a.m. and traditional Latin Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Frelburg's delicious fried frish meal will be served at $15 per plate, including butter potatoes, hush puppies, cole slaw, pinto beans, bread, pickles and tea. Children 12 and under are $10 per plate. Dine-in 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Drive-thru line from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Live auction begins at 1 p.m. followed by free dance with music by Blur Denim band. The event will also include kids games, toy raffle, ring toss, cake walk and bingo from 1 to 5 p.m. There will be a country store, regilious articles, raffle and silent auciton. AC PEACE OFFICERS TO HOLD FISH FRY

SEALY - The Austin County Peace Officers Association in collaboration with the Sealy Knights of Columbus will be serving their Famous Fish Fry drive-thru dinner for $13 a plate on Friday, July 14, at the Sealy Columbus Club (KC) Hall at 1310 Hwy 90 West in Sealy. Serving will be from 5:30 - 7:15 p.m. Desserts will also be available. The proceeds will benefit ACPOA programs.

COLORADO CO. SENIOR CONNECTIONS COLUMBUS — Colorado County Senior Connections, a place for senior’s, 65 years or older, to socialize with others is held every first and third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Stafford Opera House, Buddy Rau Room, at 425 Spring St. in Columbus. The event includes card games, board games, Bingo with prizes, coffee and tea, movies, lunch provided, educational speakers, field trips including trips to casinos and social gathering.

EL HOLDS FARMERS/COMMUNITY MARKET EAGLE LAKE - Eagle Lake holds its Farmers & Community Market every third Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Eagle Lake. SAVE THE DATE FOR SENIOR CITIZEN DAY BELLVILLE - The Austin County Fair will be hosting its annual Senior Citizen Day event Wednesday, Oct. 11 from 10:30 to 2 p.m. Mark your calendar for a day of fun at the Austin County Fair Convention and Expo Center-Women's Building at the Austin County Fairgrounds in Bellville. The event is for any senior citizen 65 years and older. Admission fee of $3, which includes lunch, music, a chance at a door prize and Bingo. Everyone is welcome to stay after 2 p.m. and check out the country store and fair exhibits until the gates close that night. EL SENIOR CITIZEN DANCE SCHEDULE EAGLE LAKE - The schedule for the Eagle Lake Senior Citizen Dance held the first Friday of each month from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Eagle Lake Community Center at 100 W. Walnut in Eagle Lake is: Aug. 4-Blue Denim; Sept. 1-Scot Wilkinson & EZ Country; Oct. 6-Boogie Allen Band; Nov. 3-Blue Denim; and Christmas Dance Dec. 1.

MOULTON TO HOLD JAMBOREE

MOULTON - The 62nd Annual Moulton Town & Country Jamboree will be held Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30 at City Park in Moulton.
