Bellville High School football alum and former NFL star Emmanuel Sanders will soon be inducted into the Southern Methodist University (SMU) Hall of Fame. The date of his induction will be on September 15 and Sanders was a machine from his high school career all the way into his pro career, playing for five NFL teams and reaching two Super Bowls, one being a win at Super Bowl 50 with the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning as his quarterback.
As Sanders is known for being a wide-receiver, the leg- end played all over the field at Bellville and was productive for every NFL team he played for (Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints, and Buffalo Bills). Sanders played 12 years in the league from 2010-2021 and established a career as one of the more accomplished receivers to play in the National Football League.
