RESS COLUMBUS — The name Tyler Kay around these parts of Texas evokes smiles and dreams as this muralist/artist shows her passion through her paintings. Her art revolves around her positivity and growth.
Breaking out of her standard job as a gallery director, she now focuses on murals on the sides of buildings in small towns and big cities. Her murals reflect her lifestyle as she paints a broad stroke against a very broad side of a building.
“I am loving how much my works can be interpreted and people can bring so many different meanings to it,” Kay said of her murals during an interview with Know Waco. She loves how people come from all over to take their engagement, wedding and other personal pictures. Her mural in Columbus has already attracted in-towners and out-oftowners to take a picture with the princess of murals.
Kay proves that her art speaks for her life with her “Glitch” series, which marks important or pivotal dates from her life.
Her first solo show and reception will be held Saturday, July 15, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Live Oak Art Center at 1014 Milam St. in Columbus.
