LA GRANGE – The Fayette County Community Theatre (FCCT) will present a production of “Back to the 80s” by Dean O’Carroll on Aug. 4, 5 and 6. Directed by Hayden Splawn with his assistant director Bryssa Rios and program director Melissa Weltner, the comedy features over 60 area students.

The play starts with a current teen Mary Fitzfry portrayed by Anabella DelaRosa, sent back in time by a quirky and unconventional professor, played by Kylie Parson. Mary is taken back to the 1980s where she meets totally tubular characters from TV series, movies and music only those that live in the decade would know. Students from Fayette County showcase their talent by portraying dancing zombies, good ole boys with a fancy Dodge Charger, Jumpsuit-clad men who bust ghosts and many more pop culture characters. 'I am excited to be this year's student director. I was first introduced to theater my 7th grade year and I was immediately enticed by it,' says Director Splawn. He continues, noting the students are hardworking and wonderful to work with. 'I encourage everyone in the community to come out and support the students.'

“Back to the 80s” will be performed at the La Grange ISD Performing Arts Center on the La Grange Elementary campus. Ticket prices are $15 for adult general admission, $10 for student general admission, and $20 for early seating. Tickets are available at FCCT's Box Office located at 120 South Washington St. in La Grange or online at www.faycotheatre.com.
