The Blinn College District and the Columbus, Fayetteville, Flatonia, Schulenburg, and Weimar ISDs are in a partnership designed to increase high school dual credit completion and establish seamless pathways toward postsecondary awards and industry credentials.

The Alliance for College and Career Student Success (ACCSS) in South-Central Texas partner schools collaborate to remove barriers that might impact if a student could participate in dual credit. With the support of regional funders and community investors, transportation and the cost of fees and tuition will not be a barrier to students enrolling.

Recently, Fayette Savings Bank donated $1,050 to underwrite Student Planners for all ACCSS participants. Fayette Savings Bank representatives will present financial literacy les sons at partner campuses.

Along with the students enrolled in dual credit classes, both academic and career, ACCSS partner schools are offering classes based on curriculum created with a focus on employability skills.

The Foundations for College and Career Success lessons will help participants gain important life and study skills to prepare them for future decisions related to their schooling and workplace opportunities.

Through ACCSS, students will have the opportunity to choose a pathway and open the door to graduating high school with col- lege hours and/or certificate(s) that will help them acquire a job in a high demand, high paying field.

For information, please contact Susie Shank, Director, at the Blinn College-Schulenburg Campus at (979) 743-5239 or susie. [email protected]. Donations may be made online at the web-La site, www.myaccss.net.
