The Schulenburg Lady Horn volleyball team announced that they are a recipient of the 20222023 United States Marine Corps - American Volleyball Coaches Association (USMC/ AVCA) Team Academic Award. It is the 10th consecutive year that the Lady Horns have re ceived the award.
Team members include, in no particular order, Kieryn Adams, Jessalyn Gipson, Haylie Goode, Avery Helms, Mackenzie Kun schick, Madison Kunschick, Meredith Magliolo, Tamara Otto, Brooke Redding, Rilee Sanchez, Grace Schramek, Keaton Walk- er, Harly Zapalac and Landry Zapalac .
There were 487 high school teams from across the United States of America received recognition with 49 teams were from Texas.
The Lady Horns also re ceived the AVCA Team Aca- demic Award Honor Roll for the fourth consecutive year.
This designation is for high school teams that were in the Top 20% in the United States based on their Team Cumulative GPA.
There were 145 teams in the United States of America including 20 teams from Texas.
The Lady Horns overall cumu lative team GPA for 2022-2023 was 96.127.
