Brazos football poised for another big season

The Brazos High School foot ball team shocked a lot of people last year with their 9-4 overall record and a winning mentality after going 2-9 the previous year. As they will graduate one of their best overall players Bryson Bennett, who happens to play quar- terback, Brazos will be able to fill the void with not only coaching, but players who are coachable.

A team just doesn’t go from two wins to nine wins easily. The Cougars are led by head coach and athletic director Ryan Roecker, a coach who has proven himself as one of the premier coaches in the tri-county area. If the area had an award for coach of the year, Roecker would automatically be in the running if he didn’t already take the award unanimously. Just based on coaching and leadership at Brazos, the Cougars are looked at as a team that can make a lot of noise come playoff time in 2023.
