EAGLE LAKE — Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Eagle Lake first ever Concert For Christ was well attended as the community came out and showed their support Saturday afternoon on July 15 at the Eagle Lake Municipal Park.
The heat didn't keep people away from the concert. A hydration station and snow cones were there to cool of the crowd.
Event Chair Alethea Chapman said the sole purpose was to increase fellow - ship in the community and plan to make it an annual event.
The day included vendors, food, com - munity fellowship along with featured performers GMOBC Mass Choir, Tre Stovall, the Rev. Ronnie Ford, Jalessa Franklin, Danza San Miguel, Rolandrea Hemphill and more.
Chapman and GMOBC Pastor D. Frank Curry, expressed their appreciation for those who came out and supported the event.
Also their thanks to the GMOMBC Community Liaison Committee for their work behind the scenes and organizing such a successful event for the city in such a short time.
