WEIMAR — Michelle Banse-Stokes and her dog, Texas, went through their paces on the obstacle course on July 21 at the Weimar gazebo in Weimar. Kids and adults lined up to watch the two perform as they do when they compete nationwide.

Texas is only two years old and has been in training for a year and a half. They compete in the UKI Agility International group and will attend the UKI US Open in Jacksonville, Fla., in November. Banse-Stokes says the obstacle courses laid out for this demonstration are a lot smaller; the dog and trainer must still work hand in paw to run the course. Banse-Stokes gave tips on training and caring for your canine friend.
