COLUMBUS - The Colorado County employees earned an award that is the highest honor a county can receive from the Texas Association of Counties Risk Management Pool (TAC RMP) during the regular session of the Colorado County Commissioner's Court on July 24 in Columbus. To qualify for this award, the county must participate in TAC RMP's Worker's Compensation Program, have a safety program or accident prevention plan and have an active safety committee. Through its commitment to safe practices among county employees, Colorado County works to reduce employee injuries and save taxpayers money by reducing worker's compensation costs.
"It takes all county employees to achieve this award." said Colorado County Treasurer Joyce Guthmann.
The Colorado County employees maintain a working program that has lowered injury costs.
Colorado County is one of only 11 TAC RMP members statewide who have earned this award.
