WALDECK FOOD TRUCK CHANGES

WALDECK - The Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) has decided to discontinue serving food as a drive-thru format. Now the Waldeck food truck will have food distribution as a walk-up method. Volunteers will distribute the food from tables. Every client needs to bring their own sturdy reusable bags and boxes. A few wagons will be furnished by CTFB, but if the client has their own wagon, please bring it. Waldeck food truck is on third Saturdays of each month from 10 to 11 a.m. The 2023 dates are: Aug. 19, Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18 and Dec. 16.

ST. MICHAEL PLANS HARVEST FEAST

WEIMAR - St. Michael Catholic Church Harvest Feast will be held Sunday, Aug. 13 at Veteran's Memorial Hall in Weimar. The fried chicken and stew dinner will be $12 per plate. Serving starts at 11 a.m. Pick-up and picnic drive-thru and go will be available at St. Michael's Family Center. The event will include Polka Mass at 10:30 a.m. with The Lost Cause Band, auction at 1 p.m., Bingo from 2 to 4 p.m., country store, treasure chest, ring toss, antique and classic car show, famous picnic burgers, snow cones, snack bar, fish pond, train ride, Plinko, ball throw and more. Cornhole tournament begins at 4:30 p.m. Free dancing and music from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. with entertainment by Shiner Hobo Band, The Lost Cause Band and The Weren's & Friends. Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.

ST. MARY TO HOLD 73RD ANNUAL BAZAAR

ELLINGER - St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger will hold its 73rd annual bazaar Sunday, Aug. 27 at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Community Center in Ellinger. Bidding on the online auction opens Aug. 18 and runs through Aug. 26 at 1 p.m. There will be a drive-thru and dine-in fried chicken and sausage dinner with serving beginning at 10:30 a.m. at $15 per plate. Desserts will be available. A prize drawing will be held with the grand prize of $5,000 Visa gift card, second prize $2,500 Visa gift card, third prize $1,000 Visa gift card, 14 $500 Visa gift cards and 22 additional priz - es. Activities in the hall include a silent auction from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Zach Novak playing polka music and live mini-auction starting at 1:30 p.m. Items can be viewed at www.stmaryellinger.com.

SPORTING CLAY TOURNAMENT PLANNED LA GRANGE - The Fayette 4-H Shooting Sports Club is spon - soring a Sporting Clay Tournament Saturday Aug. 26 at the Fay - ette County Gun Club at 5338 North Highway 77 in La Grange. ST. JOHN TO HOLD ANNUAL FEAST FAYETTEVILLE - The Fayetteville St. John The Baptist Cath - olic Church will hold their annual picnic on Sunday, Sept. 3, at St. John's Recreation Hall in Fayetteville. A Mass with Polka music will be held at 10 a.m. with local musicians taking part in the Mass. There will be a barbecue pork and sausage dinner served at 10:30 a.m. Plates to go at the hall and a drive thru line will also be avail - able at 10:30 a.m. Area musicians will provide live music starting at 11 a.m. under the pavilion. Barbecue and sausage burgers will be sold beginning at 1:30 p.m. A country auction including quilts, antiques, coins, etc. will be held at 1:30 p.m. There will be bingo at 2 p.m. in an air conditioned hall and kolaches and other pastries will be available throughout the day. SENIOR CONNECTIONS COLUMBUS — Colorado County Senior Connections, a place for senior’s, 65 years or older, to socialize with others is held every first and third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Stafford Opera House, Buddy Rau Room, at 425 Spring St. in Columbus. The event includes card games, board games, Bingo with prizes, coffee and tea, movies, lunch provided, educational speakers, field trips including trips to casinos and social gathering.
