Food preservation in 21st Century workshop set

LA GRANGE – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Offic es of Austin and Fayette County will conduct a food preservation workshop on Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Fayette County Ag Building, 255 Svoboda Ln. in La Grange.

LA GRANGE — The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Offic es of Austin and Fayette County will conduct a food preservation workshop on Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Fayette County Ag Building, 255 Svoboda Ln. in La Grange.

An educational program on “Food Preservation in the 21st Century”, which includes up-todate techniques for pressure canning and hot water bath canning will be presented.

The all-day session will include an educational program plus hands-on activities where participants will pressure can and hot water bath can products. Participants will leave with two preserved products, a “So Easy to Preserve” resource book, and a class binder with recipes, re- sources, and tips.

The cost of the class is $75 for the all-day session which in- cludes lunch. Credit cards are ac - cepted for an additional fee of $3.

The class will be limited to the

first 15 individuals registered and prepaid.

The workshop is open to adults and youth, who are 8 years of age and up. The deadline to register is Friday, Sept.22.
