In the past week, Austin County has experienced four vehicle thefts in various parts of the county.
All of the vehicles were either Ford or Dodge heavy-duty trucks.
These thefts all occurred between 2 and 5 a.m.
To date, one of the vehicles was recovered in Colorado County.
Several of the stolen vehicles had the key fob in the vehicles while parked at the residences.
This makes it very easy to steal the vehicle and its contents.
Please lock your vehicles and remove any valuables, even behind locked gates. Report any suspicious activity as soon as it is noticed to the Austin County Sheriff's Office at 979-865-3111 or 911 if it is an emergency.
