4-H CLUB TO HOLD SHRIMP BOIL
WINCHESTER — The Winchester 4-H Club will be holding its Annual Shrimp Boil to support the Winchester youth livestock projects on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 6 p.m. at St. Michael’s Park in Winchester.
Tickets are $30 each and can be purchased from any Winchester 4-H member. A drawing will be held at the event with 10 items avail- able, five heifers and five guns. Only 700 tickets will be sold and are available at $20 each. For more information, email Mindy Fryer, at mindy. [email protected].
CDA/KC PLANS TURKEY AND DRESSING DINNER
MENTZ — The annual CDA and KC turkey and dressing dinner is planned for Sunday, Feb. 5 at 11 a.m. at St. Roch Parish Hall at 1600 Frelsburg Rd. in Mentz. The drive-thru only meal is $15 per plate and includes cookies. There will be a drawing for prizes.

COLUMBUS — A formation meeting for the Columbus Senior Citizens Center will be held Wednesday, March 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Nesbitt Memorial Library in Columbus. EL LIONS TO HOLD PANCAKE FUNDRAISER
EAGLE LAKE — The Eagle Lake Lions Club are selling tickets for its annual Pancake Supper Fundraiser to be held Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Eagle Lake Community Center in Eagle Lake. GARWOOD VFD TO HOLD STEW SUPPER
GARWOOD —The Garwood Volunteer Fire Department will hold a stew supper, drawing and live/silent auction Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Nada Community Center in Nada. The meal will be served from 6 to 8 p.m. (or until sold out). Stew dine-in is $10 per bowl or to-to cups $15 a quart with cornbread. Tickets for the drawing will be available for purchase. There will be no drive-thru line.
COLUMBUS VFD PLANS OYSTER/FISH FRY
COLUMBUS — The Columbus Chamber of Commerce will hold its oyster and fish fry Sunday, Feb. 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Columbus Hall in Columbus. The meal will be served dine-in or drive thru. The oyster/fish meal is $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Fish only meal is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The event will include the Bucket Brigade Sweepstakes. EAGLE LAKE SEWER AVERAGING
EAGLE LAKE — The City of Eagle Lake will have their annual residential sewer rates determined by water consumption now through March 15. The readings for these three months are averaged and that average will be the sewer charge for the next 12 months, starting April 1. Customers are encouraged to fix any water leaks as soon as possible and limit water usage (like watering grass or washing cars) in an effort to keep water consumptions at a minimum during this time. Each residential sewer rate is based on the actual water consumed at that particular location.

WALDECK FOOD TRUCK CHANGES WALDECK — The Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) has decided to discontinue serving food as a drive-thru format. Now the Waldeck food truck will have food distribution as a walk-up method. Volunteers will distribute the food from tables. Every client needs to bring their own sturdy reusable bags and boxes. A few wagons will be furnished by CTFB, but if the client has their own wagon, please bring it. Waldeck food truck is on third Saturdays of each month from 10 to 11 a.m. The 2023 dates are: Feb. 18, March 18, April 15, May 20, June 17, July 15, Aug. 19, Sept. 16, Oct. 21, Nov. 18 and Dec. 16.

SEALY — The Lions Sealy Dance is holding a dance Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Sealy American Legion Hall in Sealy. Blue Denim will provide the music from 7:30 to 11 p.m. This is the dance to sign up for the 2023 dance club membership. Guests are always welcome.

LA GRANGE — The La Grange Roadrunners Square Dance Club will have square dancing classes from 7 to 8:30 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Feb. 7 at the Randolph Recreation Center at 653 E. Pearl St. in La Grange. Once classes begin, plan on being there each Tuesday for 20 weeks.

INDUSTRY — The Industry KC will hold their annual Fried Chicken Fundraiser Sunday, Feb. 12 at the Industry Fireman’s Hall in Industry. The $12 donation meal, including handbreaded fried chicken (1/2 chicken), homemade buttered noodles and beans, will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dine in or plates to go available. Other activities include silent auction, live auction beginning at 12:30 pm. and drawing after live auction.
