LA GRANGE – The Fayette Electric Cooperative Board of Directors is happy to announce that they have expanded their partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. After a successful one-year pilot program in the La Grange area, books will now also be available to children living in the following zip codes: 78941, 78956, 78963, 78962 and 78959.

Each month, the Imagination Library will provide an age-appropriate book for each registered child, absolutely free to the family. Children from birth to age five, who are registered with the program, will receive a high-quality book each month delivered directly to their home. Improving early childhood literacy with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library creates opportunities for children to thrive and succeed in school, helping their communities grow and prosper. Families do not have to be members of Fayette Electric Cooperative to participate.

“We are so excited that this program is now available to more children,” said FEC Marketing and Training Coordinator Tracy Denton. “The National Commission on Reading reports, ‘The single most significant factor in - fluencing a child's early educa tional success is an introduction to books and being read to at home prior to beginning school.’ Our hope is to prepare children before they enter school so they can become successful students and, in turn, successful adults.”

In 2022, the Fayette Electric Cooperative Charitable Fund was created with the help of the Fayette Community Foundation. Donations received through this fund go straight to the Imagination Library program. Fayette EC welcomes donations from local philanthropists and organizations to help fund this wonderful program. Donors can make a tax-deductible donation by visiting the Fayette Community Foundation’s website at faycofoundation. com/donors.

Parents of children from birth to age five are encouraged to register their children by visiting fayette.coop/dolly-partons-imagination- library. If you have any questions about enrolling your child in the program or donating, please contact Tracy Denton at 979-968-3181 or at tracya@fayette. coop.
