After going down early, Columbus responded with two crucial sets to close out a huge win from clutch points and a solid flow on offense. "I told them we're here to fight and we can play with anybody," said Columbus head volleyball coach Kayley Johns.

"That's an incredible win. That's a 6A powerhouse, really good volleyball team. These girls came and fought until the very end. I'm super proud of them. Just excited for what's to come." Columbus senior outside hitter and 2024 University of Texas at San Antonio volleyball commit Ally Tribe was a force on offense, putting down kills and energizing her team throughout the match.

“Just staying positive and make sure I stay a leader," Tribe said. "Lead by example. We want to win state this year. It's my last year, it's my main goal, so we just got to stay positive and keep doing what we do. We didn't have a few players today, but we made it work. We're just all great teammates. It was fun. Really excited."

As Columbus bounced back in the match to tie it at one set a piece with a score of 25-22, the Lady Cardinals battled it out in the final set by trading points with Jordan early.
