LA GRANGE — The Bluebonnet Master Gardener Lunch-N-Learn programs will be held Tuesday, Sept. 12 at the Fayette County Agricultural Building at 255 Svoboda Ln. in La Grange.
The Bluebonnet Master Gardener Lunch-N-Learn educational program is a series of seven informational meetings designed to provide gardening or general landscaping information for homeowners. Fayette County Master Gardeners plan and present a variety of programs from experts in the area and across the state.
This series is designed with the homeowner in mind; bring your lunch and learn about a variety of topics that help you have a more productive garden, prettier flower beds, or how to better understand your landscape ecosystems.
The topic this month, “Leaf Cutter Ants & Others,” and the guest speaker is Dr. Robert Puckett. Leafcutter ants, a non-generic name, are any of 47 species of leaf-chewing ants belonging to the two genera Atta and Acromyrmex. These species of tropical, fungus-growing ants are all endemic to South and Central America, Mexico, and parts of the southern United States. Will also include controlling other ant pests.
Registration begins at 11:50 a.m. till 12:05 p.m. and the program lasts till 12:50 p.m.
All Master Gardener Lunch-N-Learn programs are free to the public and you are encouraged to bring your own lunch and drink. Light refreshments are available by Master Gardener hospitality hosts.
