Steve Hillhouse donated $250,000 each to the La Grange Fire Department, the Fayette County Sheriff's Department and the Fayette County EMS.
The charitable trust managed by Hillhouse was started by himself and business partners Roland Hook and Lorilla Hook. Both Hooks are now deceased. Hillhouse donated the hefty sums because he feels Fayette County First Responders are the lowest paid in the area by eight to 15%.
On hand to receive the do nations and show support of the lagging incomes were John Wied, Attorney for Steve Hill house, Summer Hillhouse, Steve Hillhouse, County Judge Dan Mueller, Court Administrator Cassie Austin, Commissioner Luke Sternadel, Sheriff Keith Korenek, Chief of La Grange Fire Department Frank Menefee, and EMS Director Josh Vandever.
