The Austin County Sheriff's Office Investigators, currently assigned to the Westside Narcotics Task Force conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 10 on Sept. 11, resulting in the arrest of a defendant and the seizure of illegal narcotics, United States Currency, and a firearm. Defendant Cody Greer of New Mexico was stopped for a traffic violation on Interstate 10 at the 718 Eastbound mile marker.
Greer was ultimately arrested for three counts of Manufacture and/or Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2, and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 2. Greer was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Fireaarm. Greer was transported and booked into the Austin County Jail in Bellville without incident. The investigation is cur rently ongoing. The Westside Narcotics Task Force is comprised of investi- gators from the Austin County Sheriff's Office, Bellville PD, Sealy PD, Hempstead PD, Waller County and Fayette County Sheriff's Office, and DEA.
