COLUMBUS — The Colorado County Republican Party kicked off its annual event at the Old 300 in Columbus with key speaker Dr. Steve Hotz. Hotzs’ books on wellness, conservative views on religion and his staunch support of the Republican Party made him an ideal candidate to launch campaign season for the GOP in this area.
Colorado County Republican Party President Tom Kelley was the master of ceremonies as people listened to the candidates and their stances. Before it all got down to business, numerous supporters socialized and exchanged ideas on what they were looking for in a candidate.
Then each Republican candidate went up on the Old 300 stage to present why they are the best candidate for the position they are vying for.
A surprise appearance by Senator Joan Huffman of District 17 livened up the crowd.
