WEIMAR — If you hunt in Texas, you may be required to obtain an official hunter education certificate. Any person born after September 1, 1971, requires this certification card to hunt in Texas.
Friends of the Weimar Public Library will offer a second Hunter Safety Certification Class for those who were unable to attend the course in July. The course is scheduled this year in two nighttime sessions. The sessions will be offered on Oct. 16 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and October 17 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Weimar ISD cafeteria.Pizza will be furnished to the students during the class.
To enroll you must register by accessing the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website: https://tpwd.elementlms.com/ course/hunter-education-classroom- course-9342/ Hunters aged nine and up can obtain their hunter safety certification card after completion of the official online or classroom course through a certified instructor.
The course will be limited to 35 participants and will require a fee of $15 per person payable at the door by cash or check made out to Lee Mueller. Sign-in for the class will be at 4:15 p.m.
When registering, participants will be required to set up an account with a password.
It is very important to save the password designated, as it will be needed in order to print your certificate at the completion of the class.
