WALDECK - The Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) has decided to discontinue serving food as a drive-thru format. Now the Waldeck food truck will have food distribution as a walk-up method. Volunteers will distribute the food from tables. Every client needs to bring their own sturdy reusable bags and boxes. A few wagons will be furnished by CTFB, but if the client has their own wagon, please bring it. Waldeck food truck is on third Saturdays of each month from 10 to 11 a.m. The 2023 dates are: Oct. 21, Nov. 18 and Dec. 16.

ARTS & CRAFT SHOW SLATED

WALLIS - The Wallis American Legion Post 200 will sponsor its 18th Annual Arts & Craft Show Saturday and Suday, Oct. 28 and 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hamburgers and chopped barbecue on buns, desserts and drinks will be available. Admission is $1 and hourly door prizes will be given away There will be musical entertainment throughout the day. The Wallis American Legion is located at 330 Legion Rd. in Wallis. WEIMAR FARMERS MARKET

WEIMAR - The Weimar Farmers Market, located in the green buildng at 201 W. Main, showcases local farmers every second Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. There is no fee to participate but vendors must register in advance by emailing info@weimarchamber. com.

TCHCC HERITAGE FEST/MUZIKY PLANNED

LA GRANGE - The Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center will present its Heritage Fest and Muziky at 250 W. Fairgrounds Rd. in La Grange. Oktoberfest on the deck begins Friday, Oct. 20 at 4:30 p.m. Chicken and dumplings will be served at 5:30 p.m. Music by the Dujka Brothers Band from 6 to 9:30 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 21 Hosoda-music from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. by Jodie Mikula Ochestra and Al Sulak & Country Sounds. In the Fraternal Pavilion the Round Top Brass Band will perform. Other events include antique farm equipment show, classic car show, childrens activities, heritage demonstrations, museum toors, village tours and food. COLORADO CO. SENIOR CONNECTIONS COLUMBUS — Colorado County Senior Connections, a place for senior’s, 55 years or older, to socialize with others is held every first and third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Lighthouse Fellowship Hall at 201 Veteran's Dr. in Columbus. The event includes card games, board games, Bingo with prizes, coffee and tea, movies, lunch provided, educational speakers, field trips including trips to casinos and social gathering.

LGVFD TO HOLD FUNDRAISER FISH FRY LA GRANGE - The La Grange Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 38th annual fundraiser and benefit fish fry Sunday, Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the KC Hall in La Grange. The event is a free will donation drive thru only, co-sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Proceeds will toward the purchase of new equipment.

PARISH FALL FESTIVAL TO BE HELD EAGLE LAKE - The Parish of the Nativity at 308 N. Stevenson St. in Eagle Lake will hold its annual Fall Festival Sunday, Oct. 15. Eucharist in Spanish will be at 8 a.m. and English at 10 a.m. The barbecue chicken and sausage meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at $13 per plate (curb service will be available. A live auction will begin at 1 p.m. Other activities include food booths, cake and plant walk, country store, kids games, soccer tournament and corn hole tournament.

CVTC, FEC TO HOLD SHRED DAY

LA GRANGE — Colorado Valley Communications and Fayette Electric Co-operative will host their sixth annual document shred day for members on Friday, Oct. 13 in conjunction with National Co-operative Month. The free document shredding will be available from 10 a.m. until noon at Fayette Electric located at 357 North Washington St. in La Grange, and from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. at Colorado Valley Communications located at 4915 South US Hwy. 77 in La Grange.
