Hit by a number of vehicle thefts for as many months, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office reported that there were stolen vehicles in the La Grange area Monday in the early hours of Oct. 2. A firearm was also stolen from a vehicle. The rash of vehicle thefts continues as the sheriff's office and local police departments grapple with these hit-and-run thefts.
One reason for the uptick in thefts is people leave their vehicles unlocked or their key fobs in the vehicle. Investigator Kenn Kretz asks anyone witnessing suspicious activity on Oct. 2, to contact him at 979-968-5856.
