The new senior group in Colorado County has undergone a name change. Formerly known as Colorado County Senior Connections, the group is now named Seniors Together.
The name change to Seniors Together better reflects who it is and to avoid further confusion with a group out of Schulenburg with a name similar to the Colorado County group.
Seniors Together is an active senior group age 55 and older, who meet on Wednesdays to socialize, play cards and dominoes, play Bingo and eat a delicious hot meal. The group plans to have day trips and a trip to Louisiana. Other activities are scheduled for those who don’t want to play games before lunch and Bingo.
Seniors Together meets in Columbus on the first and third Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lighthouse at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. St. Paul’s allows the community group to meet on its property. The Weimar group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday at the same time at the Weimar Civic Center.
Plans are in the works for the Eagle Lake community.
All this is free to seniors thanks to generous sponsors and donations from the business community. For more information about the group or to donate, call 979-733-6610.
