EEA (Extension Education Association) of Austin County, a direct part of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, recently cut checks to share funds, raised through their annual barbeque fundraiser, with area non-profit organizations in the county.

This year the recipients were: Raising Academic Performance, West End Community Christian Organization, and Wallis, Sealy, and Bellville Food Pantries. EEA members give yearly for three major reasons. First, funding supports the community that provides essential services that might otherwise be lacking. Sec- ond, financial support is a social responsibility. It helps address social issues and inequalities, contributing to a better quality of life.

Finally, giving encourages positive change.

They appreciate the work that non-profit organizations do in Austin County that ultimately leads to long-term societal improvements.

When tickets are purchased for the EEA annual barbeque in Austin County, please know that you are making a worthy investment in the lives of many individuals in this great county!
